Content lead and project management

Worked with Sea Going Green and the Sharjah Commerce and Development Authority (SCTDA) to develop a vision for sustainable tourism in Sharjah with an associated website. Responsibilities included project management, content creation, field visits and stakeholder consultations.

After my PhD research was concluded, I maintained guest affiliation with the Institute for Environmental Studies at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. This partnership includes guest lectures, thesis supervision and ongoing research into plastics and circular economy.

Researcher in the economic and policy working group of the four year, 19 partner CLAIM Horizon 2020 EU project. Led business model and innovation research and supported policy and citizen engagement through workshops and large scale public surveys.

Strategy and framework development

Consulting on strategy and framework development for the global community of practice ‘Plastic Waste Free Islands’ hosted on Ubuntoo in collaboration with IUCN.          

Sustainable tourism certifications 

Methodology advisor and training

Supported Sea Going Green to develop methodological assessment strategy for sustainable tourism certifications with the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and International Development Bank.

 

I am a sustainability strategist and consultant with experience analyzing the societal and business case for (marine) plastic pollution management. I work at the intersection of science, business and society through impactful strategizing, targeted research and engaging communication. I am currently available for freelance research, consulting and communication work.
